Butter Poached Lobster Tail Cooking Instructions
The time has come to start butter poaching your lobster tails!
Bring 2-3 tablespoons of water to a simmer, and begin to melt in the butter one piece at a time, until all the butter is melted. Don’t burn the butter or let it come to a boil, medium heat should do just fine. Your pan should have a nice layer of butter now and it is time to add in your partially cooked lobster tails.
Add the tails into the saucepan. Cook for around 8 minutes, consistently covering the lobster tails with butter while cooking. After layering the lobster with butter and cooking for a while, feel free to take the internal temperature of the tails. A butter poached lobster tail should have around 140°-145° Fahrenheit internal temperature.
Take out your lobster tails and prepare to serve by themselves, on a salad, or alongside another choice protein. We enjoy pairing these tails with our delicious Wagyu Ribeye or Wagyu Strip Steak. As mentioned above, butter poached lobster tails also go great with a pasta or risotto.
